Jack Nicholson’s intense and authentic performances in films like “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “The Shining” have strong Method Acting elements.

Learn one of the acting techniques that helps create powerful and truthful actors! You will learn the foundation of Sanford Meisner: exercises in repetition independent activities, emotional preparation & scene work. The second half of the class consists of scene and monologue work, during which time you will apply what you have learned in the exercises to your roles. Below are the actors that have used this technique to enhance their performances;

Uta Hagen Technique Scene Study

Is a great technique to add to your arsenal of acting tools you can use when approaching a role or scene. Whether it’s film or television.

Learn the Uta Hagen acting technique. UtaHagen’s technique emphasizes realism above all else. Substitution or Transference

allows the actor to change their own experiences and emotional recollections for the given circumstances of the scene.

UtaHagen pushed her students to “become” the character—as opposed to pretending to be the part. While she encouraged deep study of the text, she also suggested creating a hybrid of the facts of the play and the facts of the actor’s life to motivate truthful behavior.
